WISE Fundamentals

Just starting out?
Our Wise Professional Core Course is the perfect place to begin if you are looking to enter the wine industry, just want a broader wine business perspective as you prepare to advance or, need a quick refresher. No wine knowledge or wine related work experience is required, but the course is equally well suited for current winery employees. Successful completion of this course is your prerequisite for any of the four Level I Management Certification courses. Seasoned wine industry professionals may test out of this course.

Level I Certification

Four separate Level I Professional Certificate courses provide the core WISE skills and knowledge required to succeed in Tasting Room, Customer Service, Wine Club and/or Online jobs. If you know what you want, but lack job experience, or if you need to strengthen your skills in order to advance, Level I certifications are your starting point.

  To learn how to be the winery’s key liaison, to develop superior telephone skills and the ability to deliver concierge level service to consumers every day, earn your Inside Sales Professional Certificate.
• Need a solid foundation in wine club basics?
  To master the art of profitable club growth and building a community of lifetime customers earn your Wine Club Professional Certificate.
• Need a good handle on Internet and e-commerce fundamentals?
  To unleash the power of online marketing and sales earn your Online Wine Professional Certificate.

Management Fundamentals

Want to become a great manager in the wine industry?
WISE Management Core Course is the place for you. This course is designed for current managers as well as those seeking first time management responsibilities. Go beyond functional expertise and learn the fundamental skills associated with management. These include leadership and communication styles, managing individuals and teams, and operations, accounting and financial management. Successful completion of this course is your prerequisite for any of the four Level II Management Certification courses.

Level II Certification

Level II takes you directly into the required management skill sets and functional expertise necessary for day-to-day management of core DTC areas (Hospitality, Tasting Room, Event, Wine Club, Online). WISE Management Core Course is a prerequisite course for any of the five Level II classes.

  To harness the full power of online activities to drive and manage sales earn your Online Wine Management Certificate.

Level III Certification

Striving for DTC leadership?
Learn to oversee all of the winery’s consumer direct programs in an integrated and strategic way. Our Consumer Direct Leadership Certificate is the ultimate acknowledgement of wine industry consumer direct expertise. This certification program provides a depth and breadth of detail that accurately reflects the complex skill sets required from today’s consumer direct champions. Learn how to maximize both your career and the growing direct to consumer opportunities in our industry.

Responsible Hospitality Certification

To earn your WISE certificate, you may need to have your responsible hospitality certificate, which is offered by many of our partners. Find out the legal requirements of responsible hospitality and the artful way leaders in the industry deliver on this promise with your Responsible Hospitality Certificate offered below.
